In late 2018 the Epping Medical Centre was rebrand to become the Epping Private Hospital and Medical Centre, at 230 Copper Street, Epping. This name change is reflective of the changes and development that is taking place within, and around, this Medical Centre.

Officially opened 30 October 2018 by Mr Frank McGuire MP, Member for Broadmeadows and Epping Private Hospital, CEO, Dr Malak Sukkar, the first stage of the project comprises:

  • 24 beds,
  • 3 operating theatres, and
  • an endoscopy room

Supported by comprehensive:

  • radiology,
  • pathology,
  • pharmacy and
  • radiotherapy services

Dr Malak Sukkar, said the hospital would service growing demand in the local community.

“Melbourne’s north is currently underserviced by the few hospitals in the area, and Epping Private Hospital will add much needed beds and specialists to create an integrated health precinct for the northern suburbs. We have received great support from the local community and health professionals,” Dr Sukkar said.

Healthe Care are also now working on the second stage of the $250 million development, which includes a major expansion on an adjacent one-hectare site on Willandra Drive, with construction set to start mid-2019 and services expected to commence in late 2020. The newly expanded hospital will host a range of services and specialties, including diagnostic and interventional cardiology; an ICU; hybrid theatre; general medicine; ear, nose and throat (ENT); gastroenterology; colorectal; general surgery; obstetrics; gynecology; urology; orthopedics and plastic surgery.
