Leading Childcare Centre Coming to Northpoint Enterprise Park

Scheduled  to open for enrolments at the end of 2014 is the newest business to join Northpoint Enterprise Park – Eclipse Early Education Group.

Eclipse is a leading child care provider currently undertaking rapid expansion throughout Melbourne. There are 6 Eclipse centres already servicing hundreds of families throughout Melbourne and they are expecting to add a further 7 centres to their Group by the end of 2015. This impressive growth is underpinned by their philosophy and success delivery of a committed, professional and friendly team of educators who welcome all families and children to their service. Eclipse aims to make the experience of their families educational and fun. Staff endeavor to develop strong relationships and bonds with the children and families in their care.

Eclipse is building a custom built child care centre within Northpoint Enterprise Park that will  include Long Day Care and Kindergarten Programs. Eclipse’s Managing Director Hugh Ellis comments on why they chose Northpoint Enterprise Park for this new venture in Melbourne’s North:

“Our research has shown that in this vicinity of Epping there is significant demand for childcare.  The majority of centres in Epping are near the ‘old’ part of the suburb and most of these existing centres are already either full or only have limited vacancies.  Introducing Eclipse Child Care at Northpoint Enterprise Park will provide parents with access to top quality child care, in a brand new building all conveniently located near Cooper Street, on their way to the freeway.”

Building, Business and Developments at Northpoint

There is plenty of action in the North of Melbourne, which includes lots of ongoing development at Northpoint Enterprise Park.

Northpoint’s enviable location in the heart of Northern Melbourne’s commercial precinct, means we are benefiting from infrastructure that is continuing to develop and expand around us.

Some of this action includes the sale of some significant Lots within Northpoint, and the major earth works that are underway to facilitate the relocation of the Bunnings to Cooper Street.

The Melbourne Wholesale Fruit & Vegetable Markets Complex is looking on-track to open in 2015. Here at Northpoint, being located directly across the road from the new Market Complex is resulting in interest and development from market stall holders looking for warehousing and office facilities off-site but close by. Also the myriad of businesses that are wanting to locate themselves near the new market facility.

There is also substantial road-work currently being undertaken to widen Cooper Street to 3 lanes travelling in both directions, which will continue to improve the flow of traffic around the area.

A new and expanded Bunnings Warehouse is coming to Cooper Street in Epping.

Bunnings Warehouse has finalised the purchase of a major block of land within Northpoint Enterprise Park with the intention of relocating their current Epping Store to a new super site. This is a strategic move by Bunnings to accommodate substantial expansion of their Store operations in the Epping Locality.

The new Bunnings site is a high profile site on the corner of Cooper Street and Edgars Road. Cooper Street is established as a major transport corridor to traverse across the growing Northern belt of Melbourne. Currently Cooper Street transports in excess of 48,000 cars per day, with this figure expected to grow to over 60,000 cars per day in the next 6-7 years.

Bunnings’ planned expanded growth in the area is further evidence of the population and business boom that is happening in Melbourne’s north. This development coincides with a string of large, high profile retailers announcing their intentions to either grow or start their presence in the Epping area.

A major example of this is that of recent time Costco has announced that it has chosen its “Northern Home” to be Epping.    The Company is currently seeking Town Planning Approval with a view to opening its new store adjacent to Epping Plaza Regional Shopping Centre later in 2014.

Northpoint Enterprise Park, a 126 hectare Business Park located in the growth corridor of Epping to the north of Melbourne, offers a high caliber gauge of the current state of play for Victoria’s commercial and industrial property development economy.

Northpoint Enterprise Park is a 10 year old, joint-venture between the McMullin Group and Robert Scanlon.  This partnership has noticed a slow-down in recent years, though maybe not the slow-down that you would expect.  Land is still being sold, and properties continue to be developed within the Business Park. The slow-down is really noticeable in the way companies are making their business decisions.

According to McMullin Groups’ Development Director John Purdey “Caution is the overriding emotion in the way people are now approaching business decisions. Due diligence is done and business decision makers

want all details perfect before they will commit. Fortunately with Northpoint this approach and attention-to-detail has always been our focus, so we have been able to continue working with businesses to ensure they are getting the best business outcome.”

The long term development of Northpoint Enterprise Park has been well thought-out and thorough, which has resulted in astute business operators continuing to choose Northpoint Enterprise Park.  This ongoing growth and success, where so many seem to be failing, can be attributed to location and quality.  Northpoint Enterprise Park occupies a prime location at the full diamond interchange of the Hume Freeway and Cooper Street in Epping, granting immediate access for Northpoint occupants to all parts of Australia. This site is directly opposite the developing new Melbourne Fruit and Wholesale Markets and less than 20 km from Melbourne’s CBD. The focus has always been on attracting top quality tenants which build and maintain quality business premises. As a result, there is a strong stable of International and Australian businesses that call Northpoint Enterprise Park home.

As a testament to Northpoint Enterprise Park’s continued growth and development as a successful business hub they are gearing up to release a further 40 hectares which will be Stage 4B, suitable for Retail, Showrooms, Business and Industrial developments and simultaneously Stage 5, which will attract Commercial, Health Care and Light Industrial developments.

New Age at Northpoint

Northpoint Enterprise Park resident New Age Caravans is busily expanding operations, having started construction on their new, modern manufacturing facility. This new development is located alongside New Age Caravan’s current Dealership Showroom on busy Cooper Street, Epping. The new Office/Factory building and expanded facilities for New Age Caravans is in response to their rapidly growing business in Australia’s caravan market. The expansion of New Age Caravans is positive for Northpoint Enterprise Park and the City of Whittlesea with the Company’s employment figures in this location swelling to over 100.

Age Caravan’s Owners Joe and Gabby Barrasso attribute the company’s outstanding growth to a number of factors including; the company’s use of superior manufacturing technologies; having a customer focused approach that includes a high degree of product customisation; creating a modern on-trend product; and having a Showroom located in a high visibility position attracting attention of a lot of passing traffic as well as being easy to access for all current and potential clients.
